The Apple iPad air released in the later part of last year and Samsung recently introduced its new Galaxy Pro lineup of tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 is due to release this quarter and is also likely to be a popular device. Processors
The iPad Air has a 1.4GHz Apple A7 64-bit dual-core CPU with PowerVR G6430 graphics. The Galaxy Tab Pro WiFi version has a 1.9GHz Exynos 5 octa-core processor with Mali T-628 MP6 GPU while the LTE version has a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and Adreno 330 graphics.
Display
You’ll find a 9.7-inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 2048 x 1536 ppi and 264 ppi on the iPad Air. The Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has a 10.1-inch Super Clear LCD display with 2560 x 1600 resolution and 299 ppi.
RAM and Storage
The iPad Air has 1GB of RAM and 16, 32, 64 or 128GB internal storage models (non-expandable). The Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has 2GB of RAM and either 16 or 32GB of internal storage (expandable to 64GB via microSD).
Camera Set-up
A 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and 1080p video capture features for the iPad Air, along with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other hand the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and 1080p video recoding capability along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Battery
The iPad Air has an 8820 mAh battery while the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 has an 8220 mAh battery.
Connectivity options
You’ll get Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0 with the iPad Air. The Galaxy Tab Pro has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with the addition of ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB 2.0.
Operating System
The iPad Air runs iOS 7.0.4 while the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 is an Android tablet running 4.4 KitKat skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
