In many people’s eyes the HTC One was the best smartphone released last year on the Android platform, and while thoughts are turning towards its replacement owners of the current model are looking forward to a new firmware update. Now it is being reported that the HTC One Android 4.4.2 KitKat update stops by in Canada.
The Android 4.4 update for the HTC One has slowly been rolling out in more regions with Europe recently beginning to see the new firmware, but US owners of the handset have been met with the news that they may have to wait a little longer before getting access to the new operating system.
Now though it is being reported that the update has arrived in Canada and is rolling out to Bell, SaskTel, TELUS, Virgin, and Wind. The new firmware comes in at a shade under 600MB in size and brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat and the HTC Sense 5.5 Android overlay.
To check for the new firmware that is available as an over the air update you can head to the Settings and select About Phone before choosing Software update. While the release of the new operating system has seen a minor delay for US owners of the HTC One, we already know that it is currently in the testing stage so hopefully it won’t be too much longer before these users can join their Canadian cousins.
Have you got the update on your HTC One?
