Many regions around the world have been experiencing some extreme weather conditions over the last few months, and while there is lots of weather apps available the Weather Chum iPhone app brings some humour to the forecast to try and lighten the mood.
This new application has recently been released for the iOS platform with an Android version promised for next month, and works from information taken directly from the World Weather Online weather API.
The application uses both actual and long term weather forecast meteorological data, and will provide animated scenes with different cartoon characters that will react to real weather events that are also helped by realistic sound effects.
The app features seasonal cycles using longitude and latitude data, and the sun’s position, moon phases, additional locations, and a 7 day forecast. Users can see the app adapt its graphical scenarios with the cartoon characters humourlessly following the actual weather conditions.
While we can’t change the bad weather at least the app will try and bring a little humour to it, and users can share images to their Facebook Account. Weather Chum is available on the App Store for £0.69/$0.99 for owners of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch running iOS 5.1 or later.
