Android 4.4 KitKat is still rolling out to various devices worldwide and recently we informed that the update now looked much closer for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. A few days ago a screenshot appeared of the Zperia Z Ultra model C6833 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, a promising sign.
Further news on this is that the Android 4.4 release has started rolling out as an over-the-air update for the Z Ultra LTE in Hong Kong. Although it could take varying amounts of time for the KitKat update to be pushed out to the phone in other regions and on different carriers, at least we now know that the official update has started its journey to the Xperia Z Ultra.
In a further snippet of news we hear that Android 4.4 KitKat is now also starting to roll out to the HTC Butterfly S in the form of Android 4.4.2. The firmware size is 736 MB and owners of the device should receive notification of the over-the-air update. The update brings the device to version 3.06.708.3. Again, the rollout is likely to arrive in different regions at different times, so patience may be required, and of course certain carriers can also take longer than others!
Have you been waiting for The Android 4.4 KitKat update for your Sony Xperia Z Ultra or the HTC Butterfly S? Maybe you’re one of the lucky first people to receive the update for either of these handsets, in which case why not let us know?
