Jawbone UP 3.0 app now supports UP24 Bluetooth syncing

#

Jawbone has announced its Up24 fitness tracker now supports Android with an update to the official UP app.

UP24 is a smart wristband that tracks activities such as sleeping, walking, or eating, to help you stay on top of your weight loss regime or training plan. The band sends data it collects to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth, unlike the older Jawbone Up, which used a cable for the same purpose. The device costs around $149 in the US and was launched four months ago, but has only supported iOS devices until now, leaving Android users to make do with the older Up or opt for other fitness trackers.

Jawbone explained that the complexities of developing for Android were the reason for the 4 month delay.

Official changelog:

  • Real-time: UP24 is always connected through Bluetooth. Version 3.0 of the app adds a real-time experience.
  • Today I Will Insights: UP analyzes your data and suggests goals that fit your lifestyle.
  • Streaks & Milestones: UP celebrates your progress, such as taking your millionth step.
  • Sleep Recovery: Forgot to put your band in sleep mode? UP lets you capture last night’s data.
  • Activity Alerts: Customized move notifications by step increment (ex. every 2,000 steps) and time of day. UP24 only.

The updated app will let you receive real-time notifications from your UP24 wristband for things like number of calories you burned during a workout, as well as track your goals with helpful graphs and statistics.

The download is in the Google Play Store right now.
