There is now a huge range of different messaging services available to mobile users, and the developers of these apps are constantly looking at ways to enhance their use. There is now news that the Skype for Android app update brings welcome improvements.
The app has been updated to version 4.7 that according to the company provides what is being called some “aggressive battery savings”, and is promised to be able to be left running all day without killing off your battery.
The instant notification of messages in group chats has been turned off to aid with battery life, but this could be re-enabled in the future according to the company. There are also some bug fixes that include the Android KitKat bug that caused a runaway process when the camera was synced in the background.
There is also some fixes for audio and video calling and users Windows Live Messenger contacts are now listed, and the app can be downloaded on Google Play.
