Back in 2012 Google had a big hit on its hands with the Asus made Nexus 7, but since the release of last year’s model there have been rumours that the company will ditch the device in favour for something bigger. Now a Nexus 8 spec and price rumour arrives from a more credible source.
We have been hearing lots of rumours about a Nexus 8 tablet PC for release this year for a number of months now, and many of them like the rumour we heard the other day about an 8.9-inch device have come from sometimes unreliable sources.
Now though Rhoda Alexander of IHS Technology has sent an email to the guys over at Cnet, and has also claimed that an 8.9-inch Nexus 8 device is being developed and will enter production in July or August.
This fits in with previous rumours but it is claimed that the new device will be produced in a smaller volume, and won’t be as keenly priced as previous models due to the high end specifications. It could be priced higher than $299 and as we heard previously the device is rumoured to be powered by the Intel Moorefield 64-bit processor, and could be manufactured by HTC.
There are also claims from Alexander that there will be a 2014 version of the Nexus 7 released as well.
