A new Micromax Canvas smartphone has arrived for sale in the form of the Micromax Canvas Juice A177. Many readers will already have heard of the similarly named popular Micromax Canvas Juice A77, and although the A177 is a different device it seems to copy the A77 in many ways. Micromax has not made the new phone official yet, although it is already available at eBay.

Specs of the Canvas Juice A177 include a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6572 dual-core processor, a 5-inch display with resolution of 854 x 480, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD to 32GB). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3000 mAh battery.

It’s a Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby, with a 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio with recording and connectivity options that include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS. The Juice A177 runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It comes in black and the price at eBay India is Rs. 8,490.

It seems a rather odd move for Micromax to release this phone that is so closely matched to the Canvas Juice A77 with the title just having one extra digit.
