The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet flagship was released in September last year and its large 5.7-inch display has won a lot of fans. There’s plenty of competition around for larger-screened smartphones though, and another has just been made official. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is about to be tackled by the ZTE Nubia X6, which has a massive 6.44-inch display.
We gave some rumoured details about the Nubia X6 earlier this month when it was thought to have a 6-inch display. The phone has now been officially launched at an event in Beijing today, and confirmed specs include a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor (a later version will feature a 2.5GHZ CPU), and 6.44-inch LCD Full HD display with 344 ppi.
Further specs include 3GB of RAM, and internal storage models of 32, 64 and 128GB. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS, f/2.0 aperture and 5-element lens, and also has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and BSI sensor. This is a dual-SIM device with a 4250 mAh battery, and connectivity includes LTE, 3G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and USB 3.0 with OTG.
It doesn’t look as though the Nubia X6 has expandable storage and it’s not yet clear what version of Android the device will be running. The price of the 32GB version is CNY 3,000 (around $485), the 64GB version is CNY 3,500 ($565), and the 128GB option is CNY 4,000 ($645).
We’ll bring more news on a release date for the ZTE Nubia X6 when we hear it. Once that’s announced we also hope to hear whether the phone will be available in regions other than China. Would you consider the Nubia X6 if it were to release in your region?
