Samsung’s latest flagship device is due to go on sale in the UK and around the world on the 11th of April, only 2 weeks away.
But it appears that over in Samsung’s homeland of South Korea you can already purchase the S5 from three of the countries major mobile networks, one being the biggest in the country. SK Telecom, KT Corp and LG Uplus have all been able to start selling the S5 2 weeks before the official launch date, why? Because Samsung has already shipped large numbers of the handset to them prior to the official launch.
Samsung has said it is “very puzzled” by the operators’ actions and was deciding how to respond.
What exactly can Samsung do? Put in place a ban on those networks for future sales?, But would that be a smart move to against 3 of the biggest networks in Samsung’s homeland, It will be very interesting to see what Samsung do in this situation.
What would you do if you were Samsung? I would ship more devices asap and stop waiting around, put it on sale already!
