The HTC One M8 only arrived on the scene last week and as a flagship high-end device we’re not exactly surprised that it looks set to be a smash hit. News from Taiwan tells us that orders for the phone in its home country “have been doubling every day” since it was officially launched on March 25.
In some regions, including the UK and US, the HTC One M8 released straight after the launch event, though it has still to arrive for many other countries. The phone has now also released in Taiwan and local distributors say that demand is outstripping supplies, although no specific figures have been given yet.
In the US, Verizon has initial exclusivity on the phone in its retail stores but other carriers are offering it online. The One M8 is expected to be available in all major US carrier retail stores from April 11 though, which just happens to coincide with the Samsung Galaxy S5 release.
Early indicators for the success of the HTC One M8 certainly look promising, and although we haven’t yet heard of stock shortages elsewhere, it’s something to bear in mind if you’re thinking of purchasing this phone.
