Moto G Forte release for Mexico without fanfare

#

A few days ago we informed readers about a phone dubbed the Motorola Moto G Forte, thought to be a more rugged version of the popular and affordable Moto G. It looked as though this phone would be launched in Latin America and now we’ve heard the Moto G Forte has been released in Mexico without too much of a fanfare.

It turns out that this is not specifically a rugged version of the Moto G as was rumored, but in fact a Moto G with a Grip Shell case on it, giving it a more rugged feel. This seems a pretty odd move as the Grip Shell is already available for Moto G owners to buy separately anyway.

The Moto G Forte has 8GB of internal storage and has a quad-core processor. It’s available now on Nextel Mexico, and Motorola is including 50GB of free Google Drive storage with purchases. If you’re one of our readers in Mexico would you buy the Moto G Forte?
