Last year there was a big problem with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with the fact the device was region locked, which meant that the device had to be activated in the region it was purchased before it would work elsewhere. Today the Galaxy S5 has become available but the region lock feature gets a subtle change.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is also region locked but the company has made some changes how owners can get to use the handset in other regions around the world, as now users have to actually make phone calls for five minutes.
Before you only had to put a SIM card in and activate the device but a warning sticker has been placed on Galaxy S5 packaging in the European region, and the company is thought to be doing this to prevent grey importers making big profits on the handsets transporting around the world.
