Asus ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 officially launched for Asia
The Asus ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 were all officially launched for Asia yesterday, after being debuted at CES 2014 back in January. They run the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, though all three will get the upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat at some point. They also feature the new ZenUI.
The new Zen user interface features themes to match the colours of the devices, a What’s Next feature for scheduling, and easily accessible icons and menus. All three of these ZenFones also utilize camera technology dubbed PixelMaster for an enhanced camera experience, with features such as Low Light Mode, Selfie Mode, Time Rewind and Depth of Field Mode.
The Asus ZenFone 5 is already available in Singapore for SGD 249, and this will be followed by availability of the ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 6. Pricing for Indonesia has also been specified, at IDR 1,099,000 for the ZenFone 4, IDR 2,099,000 for the ZenFone 5 and IDR 3,099,000 for the ZenFone 6.

I’ll absolutely buy the ZF5 2Ghz/2GB/16GB variant on launch day itself provided they can hold the promised price levels. These phones are more value for money than any product in the history of this product category! Great specs from a top tier brand at unbelievable prices! Take my money already Jonney Shih! 😛
However, it seems very unlikely though that they will be launched as cheap as reported outside of China, where the low end is not as competitive. I’m hoping against hope I’m wrong, but it’s highly unlikely to say the least. 🙁
But either way, I do see Asus moving truckloads of these high quality devices over the next year or so irrespective of whether they come at their promised prices or a tad higher.
