Supermarket giant Tesco’s mobile division is growing in size as the retailer looks to take on rival companies in the country, and this was helped last year with the successful launch of its own branded Android tablet. Now a new Tesco Hudl smartphone release looks set to offer consumers some desirable specifications.

The Tesco Hudl tablet was released to the public back in September of last year, and now the company has confirmed that an own branded smartphone will be released before the end of this year.

Chief executive Philip Clarke has stated that the handset will have specs on par with the Samsung Galaxy S5, although more specific details and a release date weren’t given.

It was mentioned that the handset will come pre-loaded with a range if Tesco services that includes Blinkbox video streaming and other Tesco shopping services. He also confirmed what we have heard previously that a new Tesco Hudl 2 tablet PC will be released this coming September.
