Two popular smartphones for India right now are the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and Sony Xperia T2 Ultra. These are both Android handsets with large displays and pricing not too far apart, so today we’re looking at the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 vs. Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual SIMs for India.
Processors
The Galaxy Grand 2 has a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics. The Xperia T2 Ultra has a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor and the same GPU as the Grand 2.
Display
The Galaxy Grand 2 has a 5.25-inch TFT display with resolution of 1280 x 720 and 280 ppi. The T2 Ultra has a 6-inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 and 245 ppi.
RAM and Storage
There’s 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD to 64GB for the Galaxy Grand 2. On the other hand the Xperia T2 Ultra has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, this time expandable to 32GB.
Camera set-up
The Grand 2 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and 1080p video capture, as well as a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. The Xperia T2 Ultra has a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and 1080p video capture, and it also has a 1.1-megapixel front-facing unit.
Battery
The Grand 2 has a removable 2600 mAh battery while the Xperia T2 Ultra has a non-removable 3000 mAh battery.

The Galaxy Grand 2 measures 146.8mm x 75.3mm x 8.9mm and weighs 163g. The Xperia T2 Ultra measures 165.2mm x 83.8mm x 7.7mm and weighs 171.8g.
Price
Prices will vary according to retailer and color option, but the Galaxy Grand 2 can now be found for around Rs. 19,000 while the Xperia T2 Ultra is on sale for around Rs. 23,000.
We haven’t taken into account the styling of these dual SIM phones or the many features available, but looking at specs alone gives a mixed picture. The Galaxy Grand 2 has a higher pixel density display, more RAM and higher amount of expandable storage, a removable battery, and is slightly lighter.
On the other hand the Xperia T2 Ultra has a faster processor, a larger display, a better camera arrangement, higher battery capacity, and is a slimmer handset. Much of any decision between the two is likely to depend on whether you want to pay a bit more for the Xperia T2 Ultra, or your preference of design.
