HTC Nexus 8 release possibility grows
There has long been talk that for 2014 we will see a new larger Nexus tablet device taking over from the popular 7-inch model, and now an HTC Nexus 8 possibility grows with some specifications in tow.
Some new information has come to light that suggests that HTC is working on an 8.9-inch tablet device that has the codename of Volantis. It is being claimed that this information is more than just a rumour with the device having a display with a resolution of 2048 x 1440 and 281ppi.
Under the hood is reportedly an Nvidia Logan 64-bit processor paired with 2GB of RAM with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage available. Other specifications include an 8-megapixel main camera with OIS technology, which is coupled with a 3-megapixel front facer.
There will supposedly be stereo front facing speakers housed inside an aluminium body measuring 22.63×15.19×0.79cm at 427 grams for the LTE model. The new tablet isn’t expected to be released until the fourth quarter and won’t be mentioned at the Google I/O event, but will cost $399 for the 16GB model going up to $499 for 32GB.
