Google Play may be the most popular App Store on the Android side of things, but Amazon is making moves to bring their offerings to the masses. Today the company rolled out the Amazon Appstore to 41 new regions which brings their total to well over 200.
The Amazon Appstore is available in most major markets, but the world is a vast and Android is slowly taking it over. Google Play is available in a lot of locales, but so is Amazon’s Appstore and it just got bigger with the addition of 41 new areas. Some of the new regions include, Egypt, Chad, Indonesia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Qatar, Sierra Leon, Singapore, Pakistan and Nigeria.
As you’d expect, there will still be some local restrictions in place on what you can buy, but the vast majority of Amazon’s catalog will be available to download. They still don’t have the selection of Google Play, but the service will no doubt be a godsend for countries that don’t have a lot of access to quality Android apps and games. It should also bring some new developers to Amazon.
If you want to see if your country is on the list, you can check out the release from Amazon or browse the entire list to see all the countries the Amazon Appstore and Marketplace services.
