What a difference a few days make. Many thought that iOS 8 beta 6 would hit the net around the first of the week, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. The iOS 8 Gold Master date is what you’ll want to concentrate on as things have been locked down and limited to Apple partners.
Apple partners have gotten ahold of iOS 8 beta 6, and it won’t be seeded to developers in the dev program. Yup, you won’t be able to get your hands on the sixth beta, and testing partners only have until September 5th to accept the new build. The build was reportedly rejected earlier due to an issue where Safari and YouTube didn’t play nice together.
While the move may not be popular, it is necessary as Apple needs to make sure iOS 8 is ready for primetime. The new iPhone 6 models are expected to be shown off on September 9. While we still don’t know when the iPhone 6L will arrive, the 4.7-inch version should be available around the end of September or the first of October.
If you’re wondering what the deal is with the iOS 8 beta 6 build, wonder now more. The full changelog was sent to BGR, and it shows numerous enhancements on the performance side of things and squashes several bugs. Nothing major, but Siri is said to get a bit of an upgrade, and some features could be secret as wide release could spill the beans on some of the iPhone 6’s features.
If you’re an Apple fan, it’s time to start getting excited about the new iPhone 6’s, and if you’re a dev, stay tuned as we’ll keep you informed on the iOS 8 Gold Master rollout.
