Spice is known for producing low-priced handsets in India like the Spire Fire On Mi- FX1 we talked about last week. The company has just unveiled another budget smartphone, and the Spice 516 is priced at Rs. 6,999 in India and there’s no Firefox OS this time around.
The Spice 516 is priced at the budget crowd and is similar to what you’ll probably get from an Android One device sometime in the near future. The 516 will sport a 5-inch 854 x 480 display, and an unnamed 1.3GHz SoC. You’ll get 1GB of RAM to help move things along while a 2000mAh battery provides the power.
In terms of storage, the Spice 516 comes with 4GB, but you can expand things up to 32GB thanks to a microSD slot. The rear camera is a surprise at 8MP as is the 3.2MP front-facing snapper. You can also enjoy the advantages of dual-SIM compatibility on 3G networks and connect with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Did we mention it runs Android KitKat 4.4?
As you would expect, the Spice 516 is a device for Indian consumers, and it’s priced at Rs. 6,999 exclusively through HomeShop18. It comes with several free extras as well including a Power Bank, Active Flip Cover and Snap-On Cover. The Spice 516 is in stock now, and you can pick one up straight from HomeShop18’s online shop.
How do you think the Spice 516 stacks up against other mid-range KitKat handsets?
