BlackBerry is expected to unveil several new smartphones, and the company hopes at least one of them will attract some fans back into the fold. The Passport seems the most likely to do that, and today we finally received word on a possible BlackBerry Passport release date.
No rumors this time around, as the company took to their official blog to put up an invite for three separate events taking place on September 24. The BlackBerry Passport invites are for London, Toronto and Dubai although a time wasn’t given. “Save the Date” is all we have to go on, but everyone knows the BlackBerry Passport will be front & center on the 24th.
The BlackBerry Passport specs were revealed last month, and the device certainly packs a punch with 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 800 and 32GB of internal storage. The cameras aren’t too shabby either as the Passport will have a 13MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing snapper. 4K video is also in the works, and it’s currently under testing so it should roll out as an update after the handset is released.
While we still don’t know the BlackBerry Passport’s price, we fully expect to see it arrive before the holiday shopping season kicks off. They could launch it the same day, or it may follow soon after the big announcement. It may look a bit odd, but it should be a big seller and help get the company back on track for 2015.
Will you pick up a BlackBerry Passport if the price is right?
