Each year we see countless smartphones released in the East that folks in the West can never get their hands on. Chinese smartphones are slowly making their way to the US and UK, but there are still plenty of regional devices we’d like see abroad. If you live in the states, and wanted to snag the HTC Butterfly 2, today is your lucky day as Expansys now has the smartphone up for sale.
The HTC One M8 is HTC’s 2014 flagship, but the Butterfly 2 isn’t far behind. The phone was released exclusively in Asia, but thanks to the online retailer Expansys USA, folks in the states can now buy the smartphone unlocked. Wondering what all the fuss is about?
The HTC Butterfly 2 is a 5-inch handset with an FHD 1080p display. It gets its power from a speedy Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5Ghz, and the 2GB of RAM ensure your apps and games will run smoothly. You’ll get 16GB of internal storage to work with as well, but you can kick things up to 128GB with a microSD card.
With the cameras, you’re getting a 13MP Dual Camera on the back to go along with a 5MP seflie snapper on the front. The BoomSound speakers will help pound out the sounds, and connectivity options include 4G/3G/GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. As you’d expect, the HTC Butterfly 2 will run Android 4.4 KitKat.
The HTC Butterfly 2 is well worth a look if you dig HTC’s devices. It’s actually a bit better than the M8 One depending on how you look at it, but it’s more expensive as there are no carrier rebates. The HTC Butterfly 2 is available unlocked in Red, Blue and White for $669 at Expansys USA if you’re interested in picking one up.
