The Galaxy S Duos 3 hasn’t been out in India for long, but it appears as if the device is already getting a nice price cut. If you didn’t care for the original Rs. 8,150 price tag, you may be pleased with the new Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 price.
The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 price drop comes in the wake of three new Android One handsets that just landed in India last week. Several other new smartphones were announced or touched down, but the Android One devices are the competition due to the low price and guaranteed updates. The new Galaxy S Duos 3 price is Rs. 7497, but is it worth it compared to the new handsets?
The Android One devices all have the same specs which means you’re getting a 4.5-inch display (854×480), a 1.3GHz quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of expandable storage. The rear camera clocks in at 5MP while the front-facing snapper is of the 2MP variety, and a 1,700mAh battery keeps the lights on.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3, you’ll get a 4-inch display with a similar resolution, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a dual-core 1.2GHz chip. We’re just going to go ahead and stop there…
The new Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 price is Rs. 7,497 compared to the Rs. 6,499 for the Micromax Canvas A1, the most expensive of the Android One handsets. Unless you really like Samsung’s products, you’re better off with the Android One smartphones or the Redmi 1S if you can manage to pick one up. The Galaxy S Duos 3 is a solid device, but the price drop still doesn’t make it a great value.
