HTC Nexus 9 still on Track and Coming Soon

#

The last time we saw a Google-based device from HTC was back in 2010 with the Nexus smartphone, but we’ll get a new gadget from the company sooner than later if a new report pans out. Remember the mythical HTC Nexus 9? Apparently, it’s still on the way as a new report says the company’s engineers have been hard at work on the new slate.

The Wall Street Journal has joined the hype train surrounding the HTC Nexus 9 tablet. They are reporting that “people familiar with the matter” have said HTC engineers have been zooming back and forth to Googles Mountain View complex to work on the new tablet over the past few months. As you’d expect, there’s been no comment from HTC or Google on the matter.

The WSJ report doesn’t really add any new details to the mix, but confirms what we’ve known for months. This is good news, as everyone was talking about the HTC Prime earlier in the year, and it was supposedly scrapped by the company before launch. The same thing applies to rumored HTC smartwatch which apparently wasn’t ready for primetime and was held back. Keep in mind, everything is essentially a rumor at this point (aside from the Prime) as HTC has remained quiet on any gadget that’s not a smartphone.

The Nexus 7 2013 edition was an extremely popular tablet, even if it was a little plain because… ASUS. HTC’s products are anything but plain, so we’re hoping the new HTC Nexus 9 will be a stylish slate with the design quality of the One M8. We already know the HTC Nexus 9 specs are off the chain, so now we just have to sit back and wait for the device to be announced. We have no doubt that it will be one of the top-selling slates on the planet when it arrives, but we still have to wonder what the HTC Nexus 9 price will be if the top-notch specs are true.

Are you excited for the HTC Nexus 9 release or do you think the rumored QHD display will put it out of your price range?
