We have many loyal readers in India and yesterday we gave information about the launch of the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact for the country. Now we have some news for those who have been waiting for the flagship Z3 instead, as the Sony Xperia Z3 for India is available now. We also have the official price, although it’s rather steep.

The Sony Xperia Z3 India price has been announced as MRP Rs. 51,990, and it’s now up for grabs across India. There’s no doubt that this is an impressive top-flight device but that price will seem exorbitant for many buyers, and we wonder how you feel about this? The Z3 Compact that we gave launch details of yesterday also has a hefty MRP price of Rs. 44,990.

We’ll remind you of the Xperia Z3 specs so that you can see what that amount of money will get you. It has a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with Adreno 330 graphics, a 5.2-inch display with resolution of 1920 x 1080, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory that’s expandable via microSD to 128GB. The camera set-up consists of a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS sensor and 4K video capture, a 2.2-megapixel front-facing snapper with 1080p video capture.

Further specs include a 3100 mAh battery with connectivity options that include 3G HSPA+, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC, and it has a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio with RDS. It runs the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system, and is dust and water-resistant to IP65/68 certification standard. The phone weighs 152g and is just 7.3mm thick.
