The Google Nexus 6, otherwise referred to as the Nexus X, is the subject of much discussion at the moment as we wait to hear about an official unveiling of this phone. The phone is rumored for a release date around Halloween, and many Android device enthusiasts are eager to see and hear more. Today we have a Nexus 6 aka X Motorola design that features real style.
Over recent weeks we’ve seen an increasing amount of leaks about the Nexus 6, but so far not even the manufacturer or the final name of the phone has been confirmed. However, the general consensus among the tech world is that Motorola is the likely maker, and a leaked handset codenamed the Shamu is potentially the Nexus 6 or X.
In the last few days we’ve shown some Nexus 6 renders that are very much like a larger version of the Motorola X and we’ve also shared an image that is purported to be of the Nexus 6 next to the LG G3 smartphone. Nevertheless, at this stage nothing has been made official and as such these leaks have to be treated accordingly.
Today we have a new design of the Nexus 6 to share, and this one is not claimed to be anything other than a concept idea. However, we thought that some readers would be interested to see it, especially as the aesthetics are based on leaks about the real device so far. It comes from designer Ramon Rivas who names it the Nexus X, and we feel it’s a very appealing looking handset and wonder if readers agree?
Aesthetically the design has some very nice touches and Moto X and Nexus 5 leanings. It looks as though it would be comfortable to hold and there are slim bezels and curvature to the top and bottom of the handet. Of course it runs Android L, and the designer points out the Motorola dimple, front-facing speakers, and dual flash.
As for the real Nexus 6 we’ve seen plenty of specs leaks, but ones that seem to be sticking at the moment include a phablet sized display of around 5.9-inches with Quad HD resolution, a Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. Other unconfirmed specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing snapper, and a sizeable 3200 mAh battery.
We feel this is one of the better Nexus 6 concept renders that we’ve seen so far, but what do you think? Would you like to see the real deal look close to this vision? What would you change about this Nexus 6 /Nexus X design? Let us know with your comments.
