Two of the smartphones we’ve seen most interest in over recent weeks and months in India have been the Xiaomi Mi3 and the more recent arrival, the Motorola Moto G 2nd generation. They are both in a similar price bracket and so some buyers will be wondering which would be their best option. With this in mind we have a video review of the new Moto G 2014 vs. Xiaomi Mi3, that gives some useful insight and pointers about this decision for buyers in India.
The Xiaomi Mi3 has been a big story in India, as it offers impressive specs at a very competitive price. Nevertheless, it has only sold via Flipkart, with supply not meeting demand, and Xiaomi then suspended sales of the device in favour of the Redmi 1S. However, we have now heard that the phone will go back on sale in India within the next few weeks.
The Moto G 2nd gen is the successor to the hugely popular Moto G, and as such is also likely to be in big demand. The YouTube video that you can view below this story gives a good comparison of both phones, and it begins by noting that although the devices are similarly priced they are very different in specs and the companies that they come from.
You’ll then get a look at the new Moto G and the differences between it and the original Moto G are discussed before the reviewer moves on to the Xiaomi Mi3. The comparison then shows both handsets together and talks about the designs and builds. Other aspects covered include the displays, processors, storage, benchmarks, cameras, and the stock Android experience of the Moto G against the Xiaomi MIUI user interface for the Mi3.
We won’t spoil the wrap-up and conclusion of the comparison, as you might want to find that out for yourself when you watch it. However, we will say that it makes some very valid points about both phones that are worth taking into account when choosing between them. When you’ve taken a look at the video below we’d be interested to hear from you. Would you choose the new Moto G or the Xiaomi Mi3?
