Some of the issues with the iOS 8 update have been rectified through iOS 8.02, but if you’re still stuck in a rut, there’s hope. The iOS 8.1 release date is rumored to be only a few weeks away, and it’s bringing new iOS 8.1 features along with it.
The iOS 8.1 update is rumored to arrive on October 20th, and one of the new iOS 8.1 features is said to be Apple Pay. According to multiple sources, Apple has changed their mind on the iOS 8.1 update, and it will come early instead of the first of the year. This lines up with the rumor that Apple is working on multiple versions of the operating system with iOS 8.1, iOS 8.2, and iOS 8.3.
In terms of iOS 8.1 features, the update is expected to bring Apple Pay and it’s bringing the Camera Roll feature back with a “recently added” function that gives you a look at your last 30-days of photos. The iOS 8.1 update will also bring third-party app permissions view, bigger icons in the widgets list, and you can now turn of dictation in keyboards.
The rumored October 20th iOS 8.1 release date is definitely up in the air somewhat as nothing has been confirmed by Apple. That said, the date lines up with everything we’ve heard, especially considering the new iPad is scheduled to arrive in that timeframe. Whenever it arrives, you can bet that the iOS 8.1 update will fix some of the issues from the previous builds, let’s just hope it doesn’t bring any new bugs along for the ride.
