Last week, a new device showed up on Verizon’s site last week, and today it became official. The HTC Desire 612 is coming to Verizon, and you’ll be able to pick one up in just a few days.
The HTC Desire 612 is a variant of the Desire 610 that rolled onto AT&T earlier this year. The devices are essentially the same, and if you were in the market for one on Big Red it can be yours on October 9th for the low price of free. In a nutshell, the HTC Desire 612 is a budget handset with a 4.7-inch 960 x 540 display. You’ll get a quad-core processer, 8GB of expandable storage, and a 2,040mAh battery.
The smartphone comes with an 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front-facing shooter. It’s an XLTE enabled device as well, so you can get a speed boost if you live in the right locale. While they didn’t list the RAM, the Desire 612 specs line up with the previous leak so you’re probably getting 1.5GB.
The HTC Desire 612 can’t go toe-to-toe with the One M8, but it has a nice price for a premium Android 4.4 handset as it’s free with a new 2-year contract. Pricing hasn’t been announced for the unlocked model, but we expect it to be cheap.
