Motorola Tablets could be coming our way soon
Everyone knows HTC is getting back into the tablet game with the HTC Nexus 9. If a new report pans out, they aren’t the only company gearing up to produce new slates as it seems some new Motorola tablets are in the works.
Remember the last Motorola tablet? We don’t either, it wasn’t worth remembering and it came out at a time when Android tablets weren’t anything to brag about. Moto may not be “Moto” anymore after being acquired by Lenovo, but they have had a resurgence lately thanks to the new Moto line. The acquisition is still under way, but once it’s over the company is going to jump back into the tablet space.
The CEO of Lenovo, Yang Yuanquing, has said the company plans on releasing new Motorola tablets once everything settles down, and they’re going to do it in the same manner as the smartphones with the Moto moniker. Products could also be released with the Lenovo or Motorola branding depending on the region. Does this mean we’ll see a Moto X tablet? It’s definitely a possibility, and it would sell extremely well if handled like the Moto X smartphone.
While today’s news of new Motorola tablets isn’t anything groundbreaking, it is interesting considering both companies are behind Nexus devices, and both have been out of the tablet game until now. It may be a next year before we see a Motorola tablet, but it will be worth the wait if it’s half as slick as the Moto X.
Would you like to see a Motorola tablet available through Moto Maker?
