iPhone 6 vs Galaxy S5, One M8 drop test action
Durability is a very important factor for some buyers when considering a new device and so drop tests can be particularly interesting in this regard. Today we have a video to share of the iPhone 6 vs. Galaxy S5 and One M8 in some drop test action. This testing also includes the larger iPhone 6 Plus.
We’ve shown some drop tests on individual devices before, but today’s video shows the Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 smartphones all being tested together. While some will want to see the video because they are about to buy a new phone and want one that’s resilient, others will want to watch so that they can see their preferred brand outdo another!
The YouTube video embedded under this article comes from TechSmartt and describes itself as the ultimate drop test for these phones. In the first test the 4 handsets are dropped from pocket height (some nice slow-mo action here) and after this first round you’ll get to see how the phones compare as far as damage is concerned. In fact they all come through this round of testing pretty well.
The next drops are from head height and once more you’ll see all 4 handsets falling to the ground. Once more all four smartphones remain functioning and the screens are uncracked, although there are some cosmetic blemishes to the handsets as you might expect.
Finally for the last round of testing the devices are dropped from a height of 10 feet. We won’t give away exactly what happened to them here, as you might want to learn that for yourselves when you view the video below. Suffice to say it’s not pretty, but then as the reviewer points out it’s not very often that you’ll drop your phone from that sort of height!
Obviously this type of testing is informal and not scientific, but the video does give some idea of how durable these phones are, and we know many readers enjoy checking out drop testing. Are you surprised or not at how the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, Galaxy S5, and One M8 fared in this testing?
