If you’re in the market for a large tablet that’s also competively priced then there’s some interesting news today. The affordable Asus MeMO Pad 10 has just been made official and we have the price and also confirmed specs.
The entry-level MeMO Pad 10 ME103K has a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, a 10.1-inch IPS display with resolution of 1280 x 800 and 149 ppi, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage that’s expandable to 64GB via microSD. A nice bonus here is that you buyers of the device will also receive 5GB of Asus Life Time web storage.
There’s a 2-megapixel rear camera, although some models will have a 5-megapixel unit, and also a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The tablet runs the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with new ZenUI, and it has stereo speakers featuring SonicMaster technology. The battery life is claimed to be around 9.5 hours.
The MeMO Pad 10 has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Miracast, and microUSB, though specs on the Asus site don’t list 3G or LTE. Dimensions are 256mm x 174mm x 9.9mm and it weighs in at 525g. The tablet comes in black or white color options, and while the specs might not be anything to write home about, the price is very appealing at $199 or €199.
There’s a huge amount of tablets available on the market right now, but with the reasonable price tag the Asus MeMO 10 might just find a few buyers, especially with the holiday season ahead. Could you be tempted to purchase the Asus MeMO 10 tablet for yourself or as a gift for Christmas?
