With Halloween 2014 just a few days away you might want some activities to keep the kids entertained for this special time of year. We’ve scoured the App Store for suitable apps for some fun ideas and have rounded up some of the best Halloween kids activity apps for iPhone and iPad.
Our first suggestion is aptly titled Halloween for Kids, which is suitable even for the smallest toddlers. This simple to use app aims to provide plenty of non-scary fun and has photo and video collections showing Halloween decorations, Jack O’Lanterns, and more. You can also use it for your Halloween party by hooking your iOS device with a TV and running the slideshow or videos. This is a free app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later, and it also includes a Halloween memory game.
Another free app is Halloween Kids’ Puzzle for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. Simply put the puzzle pieces together to complete the picture. It has two sets of pictures in Witches and Monsters categories with each set including 5 images. This one is suitable for children of different ages as it also has different difficulty levels.
We also like the Halloween Kids Party and Wallpaper app. This is also free and it’s compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 3.0 or later. This app offers eBooks and Wallpapers and includes Halloween recipes, Halloween crafts, songs, ideas, and also Halloween history. The gallery includes 30 Halloween pictures / wallpapers.
Another alternative is Halloween Coloring Books. This is a free app and it’s compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later. This one is a good option for kids who really enjoy painting and coloring, and contains a wide choice of suitable pictures. Just a few of these are Pooh Halloween, Tinkerbell Halloween, and Princess Halloween, and once you’ve colored them you can save them to your device.
Our final suggestion is for the little ones again. It’s On Halloween — an interactive book for kids. This isn’t too scary so is fine for toddlers and the story revolves around a rag doll called Zoe. Kids playing with this app can dress up Zoe from a choice of 12 different costumes as she finally decides where she wants to spend Halloween. It’s a great story that has over 150 interactions with sounds and surprises and it’s priced at $1.99 /£1.49. It can be used with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
