The ZTE N958St smartphone passes through TENAA

#

Releases from major manufacturers have slowed to a crawl, but Samsung and a few others are still cranking out mid-range handsets. In China, it never really slows down and a new device from ZTE is gearing up to launch with the ZTE N958St.

ZTE has been busy this year, and they’ve started to expand their offerings globally as well. The ZTE ZMAX landed at T-Mobile, and the Nubai 5S Mini has come to the states as well. The ZTE N958St will no doubt get an initial release in China, but could arrive elsewhere once it’s officially arrived. Thankfully, we know what to expect from the device as it just passed through TENAA.

The ZTE N958St specs show a mid-range handset with a 5.5-inch display. It’s a 1,280 x 720p screen, so it’s a bit better than average although those pixels are going to be stretched across that phablet-sized display. The internals show the standard budget setup, which means you’re looking at a 1.2GHz, 8GB of expandable storage, and 1GB of RAM.

On the backside of the ZTE N958St, you’ll find a respectable 8MP camera to go along with a 5MP sensor on the front. The device weighs 180grams and measures 154mm x 77.6mm x 9.5mm — it isn’t the slimmest handset around. That said, it does have stereo speakers and it will run Android KitKat 4.4.2 when it arrives.

As mentioned, the ZTE N958St will land in China when it’s officially released, but a global rollout is definitely in the cards considering ZTE’s expansion plans. We’re not sure what this one will cost, but it should be in the budget range going off the specs provided in the TENAA listing.
