Gionee Elife E3 Android 4.4 KitKat update arrives
It’s always good to be able to inform readers about operating system updates for their devices. Today our readers in India who own the Gionee Elife E3 are getting the good news, as the Android 4.4 KitKat update has now arrived. This phone released last year on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, so the upgrade will give users of the device a taste of KitKat at last.
It may have seemed quite a wait for KitKat but most Elife E3 owners are likely to feel it was worthwhile. The update brings a multitude of new features and improvements so it’s good to hear that Gionee has released it. However this is not available as an OTA (over-the-air) update, but at selected service centres.
Alternatively E3 owners can flash the new firmware manually by following the full instructions on the company’s official forum, but if you choose this method you should back up your data before you begin. Some of the main new features with Android 4.4 KitKat are emojis support, wireless printing, and a new homescreen look.
The upgrade brings support for 9 local Indian languages and they are Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Teluga. It also brings updates to Kingsoft office, NQ Mobile Security, Saavn, WeChat, GioneeXender and Amigo Paper. You can see the Android 4.4 KitKat changelog for the Gionee Elife E3 at the source link below.
