Many readers with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 are eagerly waiting for the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update to arrive. We know it’s coming but the upgrade news today is sadly not of the Lollipop variety. However, we can tell you that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 AT&T variant is now getting a new update that bring several improvements.
The latest firmware update for the Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910A) may still be based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat rather than Android Lollipop, but it does offer something news to the table. The over-the-air update is a fairly sizeable 223.71MB and brings the device to firmware version N910AUCU1BNK3.
A changelog has been made available, and one of the most notable additions is that it enables HD VoiceSM for certain US markets. Those wanting to take advantage of this will need the other user of the phone call to also have this feature.
Further pre-installed apps are also part of the new firmware including Amazon Shopping, Softcard, and Evernote. The update also brings a mix of other improvements. It was released by AT&T yesterday and owners of this edition of the Galaxy Note 4 can download it via FOTA (Firmware Over the Air) over WiFi.
These updates can take several days to roll out for device users, so if you haven’t yet received it for your Note 4 you should be getting the new firmware shortly. Do you have the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4? Have you already received this update for your device and if so, what do you think of the improvements it brings?
