Xolo has launched another two smartphones for India today in the form of the Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5. These handsets are both at the affordable end of the market and are releasing on different dates this month. We have Xolo Omega 5.0 and 5.5 launch details and budget prices, so read on for more.
Starting with the Omega 5.0 this dual SIM phone will be available from December 10th and the price is Rs. 8,999. For that money you’ll get a phone with a 1.4GHz MediaTek MTK6592M octa-core processor, Mali-450 graphics, a 5-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage with expandable storage via microSD.
It has an 8-megapixel rear camera with Sony EXMOR R sensor, LED flash, and 1080p video capture, a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper, and a 2100 mAh battery. As for operating system the Omega 5.0 runs Android 4.4 KitKat skinned with Xolo’s new HIVE UI. A launch offer from Vodafone means buyers will get 500MB of free 3G data and 2 months of unlimited Vodafone Music.
Moving on to the Omega 5.5, this one is price slightly higher at Rs. 9,999. It will be available from December 20th and many of the specs are the same as for the 5.0 although there are some with variations. It’s powered by a 1.4GHz MTK6592M octa-core CPU, has a larger 5.5-inch display still with 720p resolution (1280 x 720), 1GB of RAM, and again 8GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD to 32GB.
The 5.5 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony EXMOR R sensor, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and steps up to a 2600 mAh battery. This one also runs Android 4.4 KitKat with the HIVE UI. For the Omega 5.5 Vodafone’s launch offer buyers will get 1GB of free 3G data and also the two months of unlimited Vodafone Music. As a note of interest Xolo has also said that these phones will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop at some point.
