A few days ago we told you about a bit leak that put the specs on the upcoming HTC One M9 — it also dubbed the device the HTC Hima. Now we are ready for the next batch of news as there could be four HTC Hima variants on the way next year.
It’s not uncommon for companies to make “variant” editions of their flagship handsets. We saw LG do it with the G3 and Samsung is the undisputed king of variants at the moment. A new leaked document has just hit the net, and it shows us that the HTC Hima and HTC Hima Ace we told you about may be the first of many new devices set to debut from HTC next year.
Today’s leak comes from @upleaks again, and it shows the HTC Hima will indeed land in Europe, Asia, and the states. Verizon and AT&T will apparently have a Hima Ultra variant, and the aforementioned Hima Ace is listed with Asia and China as launch regions with a big questions mark beside global. Interestingly, there is also mention of an AT&T and Verizon Windows Phone version of the Hima as well.
In addition to the HTC Hima One M9, Hima Ultra and Ace, the leak mentions a few more devices. While we know nothing on the specs, the HTC Butterfly 3 is listed for Asia and Japan, and the RE Camera 2 looks to be in the works as well with WCDMA+LTE variants and one with Wi-Fi connectivity. Last but not least are a few HTC tablets which will be based on the Nexus 9. Nothing is known aside from the fact there will be a Wi-Fi and cellular variant and that it “may” run HTC Sense.
If you’ve been at this long enough, you being to read between the lines and the new HTC Hima leak looks to be as solid as they come. The specs leak yesterday is about what we would expect from HTC’s next flagship, and the variant path follows what we saw earlier this year. The same can be said for the Windows phone, and we had already heard the company was set to produce a few HTC slabs in 2015 as well.
If you dig HTC’s products, 2015 should be a good year to upgrade and check out the company’s new gear. Keep in mind, things can also change before the release date (ala the HTC One Prime), but for now we have an idea what to expect from the company next year.
Are you excited for HTC’s “Hima” lineup in 2015?
