iPhone 6 Plus review roundup, best choices
The Apple iPhone 6 Plus released in September and will be on plenty of people’s wish lists for Christmas. If you’re still trying to choose between the phablet iPhone and another device such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, HTC One M8 or LG G3, you may appreciate our iPhone 6 Plus review roundup, with three of the best video reviews available.
The iPhone 6 Plus is Apple’s first phablet-sized handset and comes with a 5.5-inch display. It runs the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, which is currently iOS 8.1.1 although iOS 8.2 is now in beta. This is a top-flight smartphone with a price to match and it comes in 16, 64 or 128GB storage models from $299 on a two-year contract or $399 or $499 respectively, although at this time of year there may be price deals available. It comes in gold, silver or space gray color options.
We’ve written many iPhone 6 Plus articles now, and sometimes it can be good to see a device close up in a video review. We’ve picked some of the top reviews we could find that will give you some different perspectives of this already popular handset. This should help you to decide whether to place the iPhone 6 Plus at the top of your device wish list or not.
The first YouTube video below comes from Phone Arena and covers virtually everything you could need in a review. It begins by discussing the much larger iPhone size and shows the design from plenty of different angles, before moving on to the display and then the iOS 8 software experience. Following this we learn about the processor, and there’s definite positivity for the real-world performance on offer. Other aspects covered are camera capabilities, battery life, call quality and more. Ultimately the design is deemed to be “one of the best in the phablet space” and the iPhone 6 Plus is said to offer a good performance.
If you want a briefer take on the phone then a good one is shown in the next YouTube review that comes from The Verge. Obviously this covers many of the pointers of the first review. Again there’s a lot of focus on the larger size of the device. When it gets to the camera this is so good it’s described as “a killer” and the reviewer finds it hard to imagine using a point and shoot again. The verdict from this reviewer is that if you want an iPhone with a larger screen then the 6 Plus is for you. However, it’s also felt that although the phone is off to a good start it has the potential to be better.
The third and final YouTube video that we have for you is a review from TechnoBuffalo. The reviewer states that he used the phone as his daily driver for 11 days, and talks about the size, design, screen, hardware, software, camera, and battery before we get to the conclusion. This review offers some interesting insight into the phone and discusses the camera’s optical image stabilization and includes some sample video footage. In the wrap-up the phone is given a rating of 8.5/10, a solid score for what is described as the best iPhone made, along with the iPhone 6. However, the reviewer also points out that the new iPhone doesn’t stand out above all the rest, and is just one of the many top devices available.
After checking out the videos under this article you should have a better idea of whether the iPhone 6 Plus is a good choice for you. If you haven’t yet decided whether this or the smaller new iPhone is your best option then you might also like to check out our iPhone 6 review collection.
