Samsung devices always go down well in India, and two more smartphones are about to go on sale. We have information about the Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3 prices at the India launch, as well as specs, availability and more. The A Series phones feature a metallic unibody build that many buyers are likely to find appealing.
Both of these smartphones will be available to purchase from next week, and we’ll begin with details of the more premium of the two. The Samsung Galaxy A5 price is Rs. 25,500 and it’s powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and has a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 1280 x 720. There’s 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD to 64GB).
The A5 packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and 1080p video capture, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and 2300 mAh battery, and it runs the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Connectivity includes 3G, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. It’s a hybrid dual SIM handset with the second slot also available for a microSD. It measures 139.3mm x 69.7mm x 6.7mm and it weighs just 123g.
Now we’ll move on to the Samsung Galaxy A3, and this one is priced at Rs. 20,500. This phone has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 960 x 540, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD to 64GB).
Further specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and 1080p video capture, a 5-megapixel front-facing unit, and 1900 mAh battery, and it runs the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. This is also a hybrid Dual SIM handset, and connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. It measures 130.1mm x 65.5mm x 6.9mm and weighs 110.3g.
