In November, we told you about the Oppo U3 when it appeared online and got benchmarked. It has largely remained out of sight since that time, but today it rolled through TENAA for certification in the Far East.
Anytime a device is getting ready to launch, it has to clear the proper regulatory bodies. In the case of the Oppo U3, that’s TENAA in China. The TENAA trips usually don’t tell us much, but they do give us a brief glimpse of the Oppo U3 and another look at its specs.
According to the Oppo U3 TENAA listing, the new handset will have a 5.9-inch FHD display, and an octa0core chip clocked at 1.7GHz. That coupled with 2GB of RAM will give the Oppo U3 plenty of punch, and you’ll get 16GB of expandable storage to work with as well. In the camera department, you’re looking at a 5MP snapper on the front and a 13MP sensor on the back with 4X optical zoom. The device tips the scales at 180grams, and measures 156.8mm x 81.8mm x 9mm.
When compared to the previous benchmarks, there are a few discrepancies with the Oppo U3. Almost everything lines up, but the display was listed at 4.6-inches before, so 5.9-inches is quite the jump. That said, we are much more inclined to go with the TENAA listed so keep your eyes peeled for massive new handset from Oppo in the near future.
