We’ve known for some time that new Xiaomi devices are on the way and the company has now announced the Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro with competitive pricing. These could be challengers to high-end phablets such as the iPhone 6 Plus, and now that the Xiaomi Mi Note and Note Pro have been unveiled we can give you the official specs, prices and more.
We’ll start with the Mi Note specs, and it has a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 graphics, and a 5.7-inch Full HD Sharp/JDI display. It has 3GB of RAM and comes in 16GB or 64GB models for internal storage. It’s a dual 4G SIM handset (micro/nano). The phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony sensor, f/2.0 aperture, optical image stabilization, and 2-tone flash, and it also has a 4-megapixel front-facing unit with 2-micron pixels. The Mi Note has a 3000 mAh battery and is Android-based with MIUI 6 software.
Design-wise the Mi Note has a metal frame sides with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to the front and back, and color options are black or white. The price of the Mi Note 16GB model for China is CNY 2299, that’s equivalent to around $371, £245 or Rs. 22,950 although pricing may vary. Alternatively for the 64GB model it’s CNY 2799, around $452, £297, or Rs. 27,950. If you want an extended warranty the price of that is an extra Y199. The phone will be available from mi.com from January 27th.
Xiaomi also introduced the Mi Note Pro, a higher-specced version. This one has a Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor and Adreno 430 graphics, and the 5.7-inch display has Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 resulting in 515 ppi. It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and LTE-CAT 9.
There’s a 13-megapixel rear camera, 4-megapixel UltraPixel front-facing snapper, and for this one a 3090 mAh battery. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with MIUI 6 and the price of the Mi Note Pro is CNY 3299, that’s equivalent to around $533, £350 or Rs. 32,875. The release date of this one has not yet been specified.
