Micromax just released a couple of Joy smartphones last week, and everyone knows how popular the Micromax Yu Yureka has become. We haven’t seen anything new from the Canvas line since mid-January, but that changed today as the company has just unleashed the Micromax Canvas Pep for India.
We’re not sure where the “Pep” comes from with the Micromax Canvas Pep, as the specs don’t show a smartphone with a lot of pizazz. It’s a midranger, but it still has some features that help it stand out from the pack somewhat including 3G connectivity.
The Micromax Canvas Pep sports a small 4.5-inch panel with a resolution of 480 x 854. An unnamed quad-core 1.3GHz chip hums along under the hood which pairs nicely with the typical midrange setup of 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. On its backside, you’ll find a 5MP camera while a VGA sensor takes care of the selfies. Other specs to note include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS, 3G, and a microSD card slot. The dual-SIM handset will run Android 4.4 out of the box and is powered by a 1,700mAh battery.
If you reside in India and are looking to pick up the Micromax Canvas Pep, you won’t have to wait long to get one. The smartphone is ready to go and will be available in White and Blue for Rs. 5,999 at online retailers and retails shops throughout the country.
What do you think about the specs vs. the price of the Canvas Pep?
