Asus Zenfone 3 design with proposed specs

#

The Asus Zenfone 2 has created quite a stir since its recent release on the smartphone market. It has some very solid specs at a competitive price tag and is already seeing plenty of interest. A Zenfone 3 could be a year away yet, but it’s always good to take a look ahead to see what might materialize. Today we have an Asus Zenfone 3 design with proposed specs to show you.

Concept designs can be interesting to take a look at as they can tease us with possibilities, although some are rather fanciful and over-the-top. The one we’re sharing today was inspired by the upcoming Zenfone 2 release in Southeast Asia and certainly looks the part as a prospective successor. This Zenfone 3 was designed by migmc over on DeviantArt and it comes with some proposed specs.

This vision packs a 2.5GHz Intel Atom Z3590 quad-core processor, a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4, and 5GB of RAM (one of the Zenfone 2 variants sports 4GB). There are internal storage options of 32, 64 or 128GB that can be expanded to 128GB via microSD. Camera-wise you’re looking at a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and optical image stabilization, and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor.

It has a non-removable 3500 mAh battery, NFC, and would launch running Android 5.5 with a brand new Zen UI. Features include dual front-facing stereo speakers, wireless charging, fast charging of 60% in 30 minutes, and a volume rocker incorporated with a fingerprint sensor on the rear to provide an easier way to unlock the phone than using the power control on the top. Regarding the build of the handset it’s difficult to tell if the designer imagines metal or plastic.

As for the real Zenfone 3 the only thing we’ve heard so far came from Asus CEO Jerry Shen who stated that it would indeed include a fingerprint sensor. It’s always interesting to hear your views about concept visions for future smartphones, so do let us know what you think about this Zenfone 3 idea. Would you like to see this design and specs for the genuine article?
