High-end Android smartphones have been arriving thick and fast recently, and in recent months we’ve seen the release of the Samsung Galaxy S6, Huawei P8, LG G4 and HTC One M9. There are aimed at the top end of the market and have varying specs, so it can be interesting to compare benchmark results. Today we have a video to share that shows the Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. Huawei P8, LG G4 and HTC One M9 in a benchmark test.
We’ll begin with details of some of the key specs of these four devices. The Samsung Galaxy S6 packs an Exynos 7420 octa-core processor (four cores at 2.1GHz and four at 1.5GHz), with Mali-T760MP8 graphics, 3GB of RAM, and a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440. The Huawei P8 has a HiSilicon Kirin 930/935 octa-core processor (four cores at 2GHz and four at 1.5Hz), Mali-T624MP4 GPU, 3GB of RAM, and a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080.
Moving on to the LG G4, this one is powered by a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor (two cores at 1.82GHz and four at 1.44GHz), has Adreno 418 graphics, 3GB of RAM, and a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with resolution of 2560 x 1440. Finally the HTC One M9 has a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor (four cores at 2GHz and four at 1.5GHz), Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM, and a 5-inch Super LCD3 display with 1920 x 1080 resolution.
With the array of top-flight specs on show this is going to be an interesting showdown! The YouTube video that we’ve positioned below this story comes from Adrianisen and shows a Geekbench 3 benchmark speed test on the above four handsets. They are shown lined up alongside each other and you might want to know that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and One M9 are both running Android 5.0.2. The Huawei P8 is running Android 5.0 Lollipop and the LG G4 is running Android 5.1.
The benchmark test is then conducted and the Galaxy S6 is the first to finish, attaining a single-core score of 1495 and multi-core score of 5341. This turns out to beat the scores of the other devices by a significant margin. The Huawei P8 manages single-core 862 and multi-core 3502 while the LG G4 achieves single-core 1133 and multi-core 3541. The HTC One M9 reaches a single-core score of 1035 and multi-core score of 3942.
Basically the results pretty much tie in with how much you’ll pay for these handsets, with the Samsung Galaxy S6 out in front and also having the highest price, and the Huawei P8 coming in last but having the cheapest price. It’s an interesting little look at one particular aspect of these devices and when you’ve taken a look at the video we’d appreciate your comments. Are these results exactly what you expected?
