Two new Samsung tablets have been announced for India today. We have details of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab E prices at the India launch, along with news on specs and availability details. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 and 9.7 released for some regions last month while the Galaxy Tab E 9.6 was made official just a few days ago.
We’ll begin with details of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A for India, and it’s the 8.0 version that has been announced. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 price for India is Rs. 20,500 and it packs a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor quad-core processor, 8-inch display with resolution of 1024 x 768, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD to 128GB. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel secondary camera, 4G LTE connectivity (with voice calling), and packs a 4200 mAh battery. It runs the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and is offered in Smokey Titanium or White color choices.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 price has been set at Rs. 16,900. This tablet (pictured below) has a 1.3GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 9.6-inch display with resolution of 1280 x 800, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD to 128GB. The camera set-up is the same as for the Galaxy Tab A and it has 3G connectivity (with voice calling) and a 5000 mAh battery. It will be available by the end of the month exclusively from Flipkart in Metallic Black or Perl White.
Purchasers of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A can get 2GB of free 4G data for two months from Airtel, while buyers of the Galaxy Tab E can get 2GB of free 3G data for two months for postpaid customers of Vodafone. At the launch Samsung India Vice President of Marketing, IT and Mobile, Asim Warsi said –
