Last month we reported on a leak of a new Oppo smartphone dubbed the Oppo Mirror 5. From images at the time this looked like a stylish handset, with the back of the phone having similarities to the Oppo R1X. Now the Oppo Mirror 5 specs have been made official, although the company hasn’t yet given a price or release date.
Oppo will be making the Mirror 5 available in 15 markets across the Middle East, North Africa, SouthEast Asia, South Asia, and Mexico. A standout point of the Midnight Blue or Ivory White handset is the reflective crystal prism design look with cut-glass sections. This phone is sure to stand out in a crowd and the handset also features a bi-metallic frame with cross beams adding both strength and durability.
Specs include a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor, 5-inch display with a rather lowly resolution of 960 x 540, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It’s a dual SIM handset with separate microSD slot for expandable storage to 128GB. The Oppo Mirror 5 runs the Android 5.1-based ColorOS 2.1 UI, and is juiced by a non-removable 2420 mAh battery.
The Oppo Mirror 5 features LTE connectivity (international and US), WiFi b/g/n, and has an IR blaster. Camera capabilities come from an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, and 1080p video capture. Camera software features include time-lapse, Double Exposure, Super GIF and more. There’s also a 5-megapixel front-facing unit with Beautify 3.0 software for your selfies.
The handset measures 143.4mm x 71.2mm x 7.65mm and it weighs a pretty hefty 160g. No doubt we’ll be hearing details of pricing and availability of the Oppo Mirror 5 before too much longer, and we’ll give you further details then. Are you a prospective buyer of the Oppo Mirror 5?
