Gionee announced a new Pioneer handset for India last week, and today they’re back with the Gionee Marathon M4. The Gionee Marathon M4 price is considerably higher than the Pioneer P2M, but you’ll quickly see why when you take in the specs.

Mid-range was the first thought to come to mind when the Gionee introduced the Pioneer P2M. While the Gionee Marathon M4 price is almost twice as high, it has several features that make it stand out including a massive battery and Lollipop 5.0.

The Gionee Marathon M4 specs show a device sporting a 5-inch panel with a resolution of 1,280 x 720. A 1.3GHz quad-core chip will provide most of the horsepower, but will get a little help from 2GB of RAM. The internal storage is listed at 16GB but expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card slot and the camera combo clocks in at 8MP/5MP.

When it comes to design, the smartphone isn’t going to win any awards even though the Gionee Marathon M4 price might make you think otherwise. The handset measures 144.7mm x 71.2mm x 10.18mm and is far from svelte with a weight of 176grams. There’s a reason for that though as the Marathon M4 has a huge 5,000mAh battery that’s said to provide around 50hours of talk time or 440hours on standby. Rounding things out are Bluetooth, Wi-Fie, GPS, 3G, 4G LTE and dual-SIM connectivity.

If you’re looking to pick up the Gionee Marathon M4, it will be available in Black or White for Rs. 15,499 which shakes out to €222/$243. The handset is set to go on sale today in the country through online retailers and retail shops.
