Acer Jade Primo has high-powered specs and Windows 10 Continuum
Most of the mobile devices shown off today were Android-based, but a few Windows gadgets also made the trip. The Acer Jade Primo was one that caught our eye as it’s set to roll out with Windows 10 and Continuum.
The Acer Jade Primo is billed as a “PC phone” and there’s a pretty good reason for that. That reason is Continuum, which turns your smartphone into a mini PC of sorts through a docking station. You’ll be able to run Windows-based x86 apps as well, and the hardware is what you’d want to see from a modern Windows Mobile handset.
While we don’t know the full Acer Jade Primo specs, what the company has told us thus far is promising. The handset has a large 5.5-inch FHD panel of the Super AMOLED variety and gets its juice from the speedy 64-bit Snapdragon 808. The rear snapper is listed at 21MP while the front-facing camera is a respectable 8MP. They are certainly off to a good start.
If you’re looking to get your mitts on the Acer Jade Primo this year, you’re going to be out of luck. Acer didn’t tip their hand to the Acer Jade Primo release date, but it’s expected to arrive sometime next year. Pricing is up in the air as well, but we expect it won’t necessarily be cheap as it will ship with the dock, keyboard and a mouse.
