The Asus Zenfone Go has finally made its official India launch despite it previously showing up in August on Flipkart and the Asus India site. We have details from the launch including price, specs and more for this affordable handset. Availability begins from today at Flipkart, main retail stores, and from ASUS exclusive outlets.
We’ll kick off with the all-important price, and the Asus Zenfone Go has a Rs. 7,999 price tag. The model that has launched in India today has 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD to 64GB. A 16GB version of the phone is also produced but there’s no news yet on when that will launch for India. The Zenfone Go comes in Pure Black, Glamour Red, or Ceramic White colour choices.
Specifications for the Asus Zenfone Go (ZC500TG) include a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor, Mali 400MP2 graphics, a 5-inch display with HD resolution of 1280 x 720, and 2GB of RAM. It has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture, a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper, and 2070 mAh battery.
Connectivity is catered for with 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS, sadly no 4G LTE. The Asus Zenfone Go runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with Zen UI 2.0. It measures 144mm x 71mm x 9.98mm, weighs 135g, and is a dual SIM handset. Asus India representative Peter Chang said of the launch,
“We are excited to announce the availability of ZenFone Go for our Indian users. Being the third largest home to smartphone users, India is a critical market for us and we intend to bring cutting edge products to consumers here, who seek power packed design sensibilities of a high-end smartphone at competitive prices.”
